Qatar CV Requirements 2026: Complete Checklist
Every requirement for your Qatar CV — from QID status to QCHP registration and Qatarization policy. Use this checklist before submitting any Doha application.
Qatar CVs follow GCC conventions but with Qatar-specific fields that differ from UAE and Saudi requirements. The most important differences are the Qatar ID (QID) replacing UAE visa status, and Qatar-specific professional registrations (QCHP for healthcare, MMUP/Upda for engineers) that are mandatory for licensed practice.
Mandatory for All Candidates

Critical for Qatarization compliance. Qatari nationals are prioritised in many sectors. Expats should state nationality clearly as it affects sponsorship requirements.

City name only — Doha or Al Rayyan. Never include a full street address on a GCC CV.
For Qatar Residents

State "QID holder" in your personal details. You can include the QID number or omit it — stating holder status is sufficient for recruiters to confirm you are already in Qatar with no visa delay. If your QID is transferable (you can change employer without sponsor permission), state this explicitly.

Qatarization Policy — Qatari Nationals
Qatar's Qatarization policy sets minimum percentages of Qatari nationals in the workforce of both public and private sector employers. In sectors such as energy (QatarEnergy), financial services (QNB, Qatar Islamic Bank), government, and telecommunications (Ooredoo), Qatarization targets create real structural hiring advantages for Qatari candidates. If you are Qatari, your nationality should be prominently placed in the personal details section — it is among the first things a recruiter will check. Sector Certifications — Include with Registration Numbers and Dates

Optional but Advantageous

- Photo — Optional for most roles. Include for hospitality, client-facing, and front-of-house positions. Professional headshot with neutral background only.
- LinkedIn URL — Recommended. Qatar-based recruiters on LinkedIn actively source candidates. A complete profile with recommendations strengthens your application.
What NOT to Include
- ✗Salary Expectation — discuss in interview or when directly asked by the recruiter. Including it on the CV is considered presumptuous.
- ✗Full Home Address — city only. Full street address provides no useful information and poses a privacy risk.
- ✗Passport Number — never include identity document numbers on a CV. This is a security risk.
- ✗References — omit entirely or add a single line "References available upon request." Never list referees' contact details.
