Why Saudi-Specific Templates Matter

A generic Western CV template will fail in the Saudi market for one critical reason: the personal details section is completely different. Saudi employers expect nationality (for Nitaqat compliance), Iqama status (for expats), date of birth, and phone in +966 format — none of which appear in Western templates. Beyond the personal details section, Saudi ATS systems (particularly SAP SuccessFactors at Aramco) require certifications listed with dates and registration numbers, and standard section headers that the parser recognises. Tech / AIUse the ATS Standard template. Lead your summary with technology keywords aligned to the NEOM digital infrastructure, Saudi Aramco Digital, or SDAIA AI programmes. Certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP) should appear directly after education.
HealthcareUse the ATS Standard or structured clinical template. SCFHS registration number, classification level, and validity date must appear in the certifications section with full detail. The Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) number is your primary credential.

Certification Placement

In the Saudi market, certifications carry more weight than in most Western markets. Always list certifications in their own dedicated section — never bury them in the skills section. Include: certification name, issuing body, registration/certificate number (where applicable), and validity or issue date. This is mandatory for SCFHS, SEC, SOCPA, and NEBOSH credentials, and strongly recommended for PMP, CFA, ACCA, and project management certifications.

Photo Guidance

Photos are optional for most corporate and professional roles. Include a professional headshot for hospitality, retail, client-facing, or front-of-house positions. Use a neutral background, business attire appropriate to the sector, and a format that does not dominate the CV layout. Never include a photo in the header of an ATS-targeted CV — it disrupts parsing.
